A wedding video from The Yorkshire Wedding Barn

August 2023 – The was the wedding of Gareth & Sophie from The Church of Saint Michael and All Angels in Middleton Tyas, and then The Yorkshire Wedding Barn near Richmond. Inseparable since teenagers, the time had finally come for Gareth & Sophie

“When we were 15/16. We met at our mutual friends house party. Sophie lost the pin out of her mum’s watch and I helped her look for it and found it. We then spoke from them then.”

Gareth & Sophie moved onwards and upwards from that initial first date, culminating in a truly romantic proposal.

“We went on holiday in Croatia in August 2021. We were in Hvar and we took a private sunset boat tour around the Pakleni islands. As the sunset I then proposed..”

Set among the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, The Yorkshire Wedding Barn comprises two spectacular and newly converted barns where all a couples’ dreams can come true. This timeless, yet modern venue provides the perfect place to celebrate among family and friends and the gorgeous accommodation means no one needs to head home at the end of the night!

“We liked that it had a modern and rustic feel with character. We also liked the accommodation for our guests which meant we could turn the wedding into a two day celebration with our families and friends. We want our day to be simple but timeless. Colour scheme is white with neutral tones. We want the atmosphere to be like a good party with everyone having a good time.”

Having been planning the wedding for a while, as well as a photographer, Gareth & Sophie wanted the entire day filming so they ad something to look back on in years to come and re-live that emotion forever with family and friends, and that’s why they chose Yorkshire Wedding Videos

“From looking at a number of different videographers galleries on line, we liked the style of yours the best and felt it was the type of video we were after for our wedding. We want to look back and be able to relive the enjoyment of the day and see on everyones faces that they had a really good time.”

Congratulations to Gareth & Sophie – now enjoy the film.

Who am I?

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Pete and I’m an established wedding videographer based in the North of England, on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Filming weddings is a passion as well as a job. I am always honoured to be asked to capture a couples’ big day so they can treasure and watch it back for years to come.

Why choose me?

I often ask my couples why they selected me to film their wedding, as opposed to all the other wedding videographers out there.  They almost unanimously say it’s because my work has a natural, informal feel while remaining stylish and contemporary. My background in documentary film making  means that I like to film events as they happen naturally, taking a discreet approach without trying to force or fake anything.

What’s my approach?

For me, the wedding day is of course about the bride and groom, it is their big day after all. Having said that it’s not ALL about the bride and groom, but it’s also a big day for the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, the ushers, the flower girl, the pageboy, the mums and dads, the brothers and sisters, the cousins, wider family and friends, you can see where I’m going with this. Everybody plays their part and not to forget to mention the suppliers: the dresses, the suits, the cake, the venue, the band, the flowers etc etc. I see it as my job to capture as much of the vibe of the day as possible, and that would not be possible without the participation of everyone mentioned above. I love capturing it all, from the anticipatory bridal preparations, through to the emotional vows, all the way up to guests throwing shapes on a packed dance floor.

Your Wedding

Even after 15 years in this business and over 400 weddings under my belt, I still get a thrill at turning up at the venue on the morning of the wedding. Whether that is a vast country estate, or a small village church, I approach every wedding the same. I love to capture your day with the minimal amount of fuss, and to provide a beautifully crafted film that you can watch back for years to come. All the atmosphere, the emotion, and all the laughter and love. It really is a once in a lifetime, unique event that deserves to be beautifully captured.

Every couple and every wedding is different an I love getting to know my couples, hearing their stories and capturing their big day. Each time, the story of your wedding day is completely unique, and I can’t wait to tell yours.

Wherever your wedding is, from a small registry office, quaint village church, country hotel, large marquee or even a grand cathedral, get in touch for prices and to discuss your requirements. If I am free for your date we can arrange a meeting, and I can show you samples of my wedding films and talk you through the process. If you have some questions and just want a chat, then I am more than happy to have a Zoom consultation where you quiz me on any aspect of having a videographer at your wedding, just click on the Contact link at the top or bottom of this page.
