A wedding video from Ghyl Church and The Old Vicarage

June 2023 – The was the wedding of Emma & Archie at Church of St Mary le Ghyll in Barnoldswick and The Old Vicarage in Kelbrook in Lancashire

The day started with the buzz of excitement in the Old vicarage as Emma and her bridesmaids. A professional hairstylist and makeup artist worked their magic, creating elegant updos and soft, glowing makeup for Emma and her bridesmaids. As each one took her turn in the stylist’s chair, they reminisced about their friendship with Emma, sharing stories that made them laugh and tear up at the same time.

At The church a nervous Archie waited, along with his groomsmen, for the wedding party to arrive. They were kept busy greeting all the guests as they arrived – 150 guests made sure they had a lot of greeting to get through! The Church of St Mary le Ghyll is a quaint 17th century church set in lovely grounds – a more typical English church I can’t recollect. After the ceremony was over, all the guests made their way to The Old Vicarage in Kelbrook where a huge marquee awaited, and it was here that the afternoon reception got underway with lots of laughs, fun and heartfelt speeches.

Once the afternoon reception was completed it was on to the evening party, and with another 150 guests it was pretty lively!

Congratulations to Emma & Archie – now enjoy the film.

Who am I?

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Pete and I’m an established wedding videographer based in the North of England, on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Filming weddings is a passion as well as a job. I am always honoured to be asked to capture a couples’ big day so they can treasure and watch it back for years to come.

Why choose me?

I often ask my couples why they selected me to film their wedding, as opposed to all the other wedding videographers out there.  They almost unanimously say it’s because my work has a natural, informal feel while remaining stylish and contemporary. My background in documentary film making  means that I like to film events as they happen naturally, taking a discreet approach without trying to force or fake anything.

What’s my approach?

For me, the wedding day is of course about the bride and groom, it is their big day after all. Having said that it’s not ALL about the bride and groom, but it’s also a big day for the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, the ushers, the flower girl, the pageboy, the mums and dads, the brothers and sisters, the cousins, wider family and friends, you can see where I’m going with this. Everybody plays their part and not to forget to mention the suppliers: the dresses, the suits, the cake, the venue, the band, the flowers etc etc. I see it as my job to capture as much of the vibe of the day as possible, and that would not be possible without the participation of everyone mentioned above. I love capturing it all, from the anticipatory bridal preparations, through to the emotional vows, all the way up to guests throwing shapes on a packed dance floor.

Your Wedding

Even after 15 years in this business and over 400 weddings under my belt, I still get a thrill at turning up at the venue on the morning of the wedding. Whether that is a vast country estate, or a small village church, I approach every wedding the same. I love to capture your day with the minimal amount of fuss, and to provide a beautifully crafted film that you can watch back for years to come. All the atmosphere, the emotion, and all the laughter and love. It really is a once in a lifetime, unique event that deserves to be beautifully captured.

Every couple and every wedding is different an I love getting to know my couples, hearing their stories and capturing their big day. Each time, the story of your wedding day is completely unique, and I can’t wait to tell yours.

Wherever your wedding is, from a small registry office, quaint village church, country hotel, large marquee or even a grand cathedral, get in touch for prices and to discuss your requirements. If I am free for your date we can arrange a meeting, and I can show you samples of my wedding films and talk you through the process. If you have some questions and just want a chat, then I am more than happy to have a Zoom consultation where you quiz me on any aspect of having a videographer at your wedding, just click on the Contact link at the top or bottom of this page.
